About the Author

Joe lived in the Bronx, NY. It was 1930. His hangout was the local pool hall and he was quite a pool shark. After seeing a Navy man shooting pool one night he decided to try the Navy. The Navy was in need and so was Joe.

This is where Joe starts his life’s journey towards the Flight of the Silver Eagle. He enlists, becomes an Aviation Mechanic, and later gets married and becomes a Pilot. Joe the pilot, helps the nation during World War II at Pearl Harbor, Midway, and Guadalcanal. His aerial flight photo-reconnaissance missions were highly decorated in 1943 and 1944.

After the War, Joe spends another 16 years in the Navy teaching and flying planes on the East Coast and Europe. He retires in 1961 and spends another 46 years with his wife Angie and their family in Pensacola, FL.
